Overnight
Parking - Township Roads |
|
|
|
|
Credit River
Township officials who are responsible for the
roads in the Township are very interested in
keeping the road right of ways clear so that
they might be used for the purposes intended. In
addition to serving as a conveyance for the
residents to access the county road system, they
also provide means for school buses, postal and
delivery trucks, emergency vehicles, service
vehicles (garbage trucks, snow plows, etc).
Consequently it is the desire of the Board that
vehicles not be parked in the road right of way
for extended periods of time.
In order to
insure that the roads be kept clear, the Town
Board adopted an ordinance at the Township
meeting on August 1, 2005 prohibiting overnight
parking on township roads and establishing
penalties for violations. A summary version
along with a complete copy of this ordinance may
be viewed in .pdf format by clicking on the

Citizens
interested in reporting violations are
encouraged to call any of the Township
Supervisors or the Township Clerk

At
the request of township residents, the Town Board
passed an ordinance at it's August 1, 2005 meeting
establishing regulations regarding Peddlers,
Solicitors and Transient Merchants wishing to

ordinance exempts certain types of solicitations
and further requires that all such persons not
meeting these exemptions apply for a license to
conduct business. The ordinance further
establishes authority for a license fee defines
certain "prohibited practices",
establishes other rules such as hours of
operation, duty to respect signs prohibiting
solicitation, as well as terms of revocation of
said license.

Dog
Ordinance |
|
|
|
|
Recent
years has seen increased complaints of loose
animals (primarily dogs) running through the
neighborhoods damaging landscapes and frightening
children. At
the request of several township residents, the Town Board
reviewed the situation and felt that an ordinance
was in order. The ordinance is not meant to gather
up all of the dogs in the township. It is aimed at
dogs running "at large" and the intent
is to ask that dogs be contained on the owners
property by some means (fence / chain) or
controlled with a leash when off the property. The
ordinance also addresses potentially "vicious
dogs" This latter issue is also
becoming an increasing problem nationwide.
This ordinance was
passed at a Town Board meeting on February 21,
2007 and published in the local papers on March
24, 2007.

"False
Alarm" Ordinance |
|
|
|
|
Public
Safety and Fire Department personnel regularly
respond to 100 to 125 calls per month.
Approximately 15-20 percent of these are of the
"false alarm" variety. In an effort to
contain costs and also to remain consistent with
the City of Prior Lake, our Contract Fire
Protection provider, the township passed a
"false alarm" ordinance that specifies
penalties for repeated false alarm
calls.
