Meeting called to order by Chairman Kane at 7:00

Prior Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the meeting from December  4, 2001 were read . Motion made by Jerry Maas to approve as read, seconded by Leroy Schommer. All in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurers Report
Treasurer's report was read. Motion by Schommer to accept as read, seconded by Maas. All in favor. Motion carried.
Open Forum
Tony Neilsen, 19845 Vernon Ave. requested a building permit for a 60 x 120 foot pole barn to be used as a riding stable on a 10 acre parcel. The Town Board approved the request and the clerk issued the permit.
John Hartigan - Request for Interim Use Permit
Mr. Hartigan appeared to apply for an interim use permit to operate a cement business out of his home. The clerk issued a recommendation form to be reviewed by the county with the conditions being (1), the owner will waive the rights to appeal future assessment for road improvements, (2) the owner will dedicate a road easement as necessary for proposed road improvements as determined by the Township Engineer. Mr. Hartigan agreed to the terms.
Discussion of the need for the Township to participate in an Alternative Urban Area Wide Review (AUAR)
Mr. Roach, Township Attorney, explained that the county planning department is advising the Township to conduct an review of the current road and water situation in the Township considering the proposed development of the 700 acre Wasie Property by Laurent Builders.

The developer is planning on paying the majority of the cost of this study. It was suggested that the Township contribute $12,000 to $15,000 towards this study, an amount that would be charged to other developers as they come forward with proposals. A motion was made by Maas to authorize participation in this study for an amount not to exceed $15,000 with the condition being that the Township be kept fully involved in road and water findings. Motion was seconded by Schommer. All in favor. Motion carried.  

Cedarwood Development
A motion was made by John Kane to stop granting all building permits in this development until the Township has an easement recorded and a letter of credit on file. Attorney Roach will notify the developer in writing.

Adjourn
Motion by Maas to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Schommer. Motion carried 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm
